Our lives have been absolutely insane lately – and I feel like we always say that, but they have. Between working full-time, freelancing and trying to keep up with the blog in between shoots and dinners, we don’t have much time for anything else, which made our recent trip to Vancouver that much more appreciated.
September is a very confusing time for Southerners. Everyone keeps talking about this “fall” thing, and we’re still in the dead heat of summer for most of the month. But, we all pretend we understand this transitional season, and embrace all things autumn despite what the weather says. Thankfully, there’s been a recent chill in the air (meaning less than 100 degrees), and we’re beyond excited to embrace the new season’s flavors with some of our fave recipes floating the web.
For some of you, summer is probably winding down, and you’re gearing up for sweater weather and Fall. Welp, not for us in Texas. Although it’s cooled down a little bit, it’s still hot as hell and turning on the oven to 500 degrees to get a perfectly cooked pizza isn’t really the best way to keep cool indoors.
Sometimes you just need to hit the reset button and treat yo’ self to a much deserved staycation. Although the Hilton Anatole is the perfect destination for out-of-towners, we found it was the ideal spot for a getaway without totally getting away. The historic and unique hotel sits just outside of downtown (far enough away for awesome views), and recently got a resort-style makeover that we were so excited to check out.
Bonjour, y’all. We recently got back from arguably the most amazing vacation ever. We left the real world far behind and headed to the French Riveria for a week. Clear blue waters, rows of yachts, fresh seafood and plenty of rosé – can you blame us for almost missing our flight? Although we took a few day trips, home base was Cannes, and we totally fell in love with this beautiful beach town.
Las Vegas. Sin City. The place that’s 117 degrees in the July. It’s a town that people seem to love or hate, but Lexi and I have never really had opinions on it, honestly, until recently.
We’d been once before for a short girls’ trip, and while we had fun, it wasn’t a long enough trip and we didn’t see enough to form a proper opinion. We’d been trying to plan a trip back, and when the opportunity arose, we pounced on it. [Read more…]
If you’ve been following us for, well any amount of time, you can easily tell we’re hardly – okay, never – in front of the camera. We can shoot burgers, cheese boards, beautiful scenery, macarons and s’mores all day, but would totally freeze up on the other side of the lens. So, you have to understand that not just anyone could convince us to do a full-on photo shoot. Maybe it was the wine or the creative juices flowing, but after a girls’ night happy hour with the boss babes of Beckley & Co., Becca and Alex, Kelsie and I were totally on board with facing the cam for the day. It’s almost that time of year, y’all – DFW Restaurant Week is just around the corner, beginning Aug. 15. This year’s list of participating restaurants has been announced and reservations are open for the taking. But, with a list of 100+ restaurants, where should you actually go?
We got ya covered.
Let’s talk burgers. And booze. And cheese fries. Sound good?
If you said no, then BOY, BYE. But really, is there anything as comforting as a cheeseburger? Other than pizza, of course.
We’ve said it before – brunch is a THING in Dallas. Yeah, I know, everyone loves a good breakfast-lunch hybrid. But Dallasites are oddly obsessed with this social meal. It sort of becomes what our weekends revolve around. Deciding which place has the best eggs benedict, patio or bottomless mimosas is a true hobby of ours. Given our brunch addiction, Kelsie and I have wanted to throw a brunch party for a long time now and finally pulled one together for a fun Saturday morning at home.
By the way, when you brunch at home, the mimosas are automatically bottomless. Major key. [Read more…]
