We recently* hosted our Third Annual Galentine’s Day party, and it was easily the BEST yet. The food was perfection, wine was plenty and the company was extra entertaining. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Galentine’s Day, 1. come out from under that rock, and 2. please see Leslie Knope’s explanation here. [Read more…]
It’s almost the weeeekend, y’all! This has been SUCH a long week – probably because Monday felt like four days rolled into one. We were on the struggle bus after that Super Bowl. What a game, though!
What fun weekend plans do y’all have? We have our Galentine’s party on Sunday, and we’re so excited. It’s become our favorite ~holiday~ and definitely our favorite party to throw. If you’re looking for fun things to do with your girlfriends or S.O. on Tuesday in Dallas, check out our top 10 restaurants for Valentine’s Day! If you want to throw your own Galentine’s party, a personal pizza party bar is never a bad idea, trust us.
It’s almost that time of year that ya either love or hate – Valentine’s Day. I’ve never really had an opinion one way or the other, but I think this year especially, we should all should take the day to love on others a little more, whether it’s your friends, significant other or sister (HI LEXI).
And what’s the best way to show someone you love them? Food. Obviously. (like these cookies)
We’ve both been a little under the weather lately, (PICK A SEASON, TEXAS) so this post is currently being written curled up on the couch with a bowl of this de-lish detox soup while binge-watching Black Mirror. Anyone else completely obsessed with this show? It’s equally addicting and terrifying.
Despite the stuffy noses, the past couple weeks have been filled with brunches, Javier’s margs with mom and shopping in between. We spent last weekend at Americano finally trying out the brunch menu and catching up with some amazing ladies at Dallas Blogger Brunch.
For the past year or so, Lexi and I have been investing more of our time (and money) into working out consistently. Although one of the definite perks of having a blog that focuses on food is, well, the food, we quickly realized eating out frequently would have a negative side to it if we didn’t take care of ourselves. So, we now aim to work out at least five times a week. Lexi does Class Pass, and I have a membership at Zyn22 (both are amazing!). But, we have hectic schedules and never know when we’ll really get off work, meaning the only real free time we have to go to classes is the early AM before the sun rises.
When we started working out at 5:30 and 6:30 in the morning, it was a definite adjustment for our schedules. Your metabolism obviously starts going, and while that’s good, I’m hungry like, all of the time. We decided to detail how we refuel and refresh to keep us going for a full day!
Hi, y’all! Happy Humpday! If you’re one of the lucky ones who got Monday off – hopefully you’re enjoying this short week. Our mom is in town for the month (yay!), so Monday called for a long lunch at Dallas Chop House (new fave tuna tartare) and a longer trip to Target. We were chatting over lunch about all the things we want to do while she’s here – including cooking, baking and planning some much needed girls’ nights. Stacey is basically the Pinterest Queen and is always sending us fun articles, easy recipes and décor tips from around the web, and its inspired us to start collecting some of our favorites to share with you! So, here’s what we’re loving lately.
Wassup, 2017? We’ve been anxiously awaiting you. All in all, 2016 was a mixed bag. Definite highs and lows, but let’s focus on the highlights here. We can easily agree that, looking back, most of our favorite memories include traveling. From Canada to Cannes to Catalonia and a few places in between, 2016 was a solid year for trips. One of the most common questions we get, and something we’re still figuring out for ourselves, is how do you stay healthy while hopping from city to city? Vacation is meant to be vacation, so by all means #treatyoself, but we found there are a few small things that help us feel energized and active while away from home.
There is no way it’s almost 2017. I know we say it every year, and it’s so cliche, but literally, where did this year go? The holiday season somehow always sneaks up and leaves me scrambling to fit in as many festivities as possible before the 25th. We love hosting parties for friends and family, and while we’re usually pro planners, sometimes we’re in a pinch. So, if you’re looking to squeeze out the last bit of holiday fun before its time to take down the lights, here are five simple tips to help throw together a last-minute soiree.
Having lived in Texas, football has always been a big part of our lives. And, since my Dad didn’t have any sons, we gladly took on the role of watching football with him growing up. From Friday night high school games, to college games on Saturday to the NFL on Sundays, in the fall, football was (and still is!) on all weekend.
