Last week, we loaded me, Lexi, my mom, dad, and grandma in my mom’s tiny two-door car and headed for an hour drive to Heidelberg. We’ll skip over the panic attacks that almost ensued on the ride due to claustrophobia.
We’ve always heard wonderful things of Heidelberg – it’s a typical German town, has one of the oldest universities (est. in 1386), and, of course, has a beautiful castle. Are you really in a European, especially German, town if there’s not a castle? I’m convinced not.
We had a great time, even though we were only there for short day trip. Maybe the delicious gelato had something to do with it (probably, most definitely).
We recommend visiting if you have the time – there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, sweet shops, and castles to keep you entertained. Not to mention, it’s absolutely beautiful. Here are some pics from our short adventure!
