Having lived in Texas, football has always been a big part of our lives. And, since my Dad didn’t have any sons, we gladly took on the role of watching football with him growing up. From Friday night high school games, to college games on Saturday to the NFL on Sundays, in the fall, football was (and still is!) on all weekend.
And, living in Dallas, it’s nearly impossible not to be a Cowboys fan. Although there’s something nostalgic about Texas Stadium, nothing compares to the place the ‘Boys call home now. We’re no experts, but we’ve visited stadiums around the world, and there is truly nothing like AT&T Stadium. We’ve attended concerts, rodeos and games at the stadium, and each experience has been top-of-line (other than those expensive parking lots).
When AT&T invited us on a behind-the-scenes tour of The Star in Frisco and of AT&T Stadium, it was a no-brainer. In honor of those five shiny Super Bowl trophies the Cowboys have, we’re sharing our five favorite facts about AT&T Stadium:
What is one thing that all fans have been demanding in stadiums across the country? The ability to connect and share their experiences online, because were you actually at the game if you didn’t Snapchat it? AT&T took this demand seriously, and offers in-stadium (free!) wifi, charging stations and a strong network.
2. Next-Level Locker Room
The Cowboys locker room is truly exquisite, and there’s something really cool about being in the same room where the players give after-game interviews. But, thinking about sitting on the locker? You can’t, and neither can the players. Chairs are set up in front of the lockers for players to sit because the wood that the lockers are built from is that nice and that expensive, and normally found inside luxury cars like Bentleys and Rolls Royces.
3. Doubles as an art gallery
When building AT&T Stadium, the Jones family decided they wanted the stadium to house an impressive art collection. It’s not something you think you’d see when heading in to watch a football game, but if you actually look around, the art is truly beautiful. The stadium even offers art tours!
4. Keep cool
AT&T Stadium is actually the largest air-conditioned room in the world, which is very welcome during those 100 degree days that sometimes creep into October.
5. There’s an app for that
Literally. The AT&T Stadium app helps fans connect during games and stay up-to-date. You can watch instant replays, post pictures to the AT&T LiveFX board in the stadium and view plays from multiple camera angles.
Whether you are a die-hard football fan or not, it’s hard not to admire AT&T Stadium and how AT&T helps to enhance the fan experience before, during and after a game!
