Welp, another month has come and gone, and I still feel like it’s 2015. We’re another month closer to summer, which means high temps and lots of frozen margs. Also, festival season is in full swing, and we’re lov-ing it. Take advantage of the (hopefully!) Springy, perfect weather this month in Dallas by filling up your social schedule with these fun events:
Got something you think we should add? Email us!
WHEN: April 7 – 10
WHERE: Locations vary, but include the AT&T Performing Arts Center, Sixty Five Hundred and Centennial Hall at Fair Park
PRICE: Prices vary depending on which event(s) you want to attend, but range from $20 – $200
Go because … it’s a festival dedicated to food and wine, so that should be enough to get you there. But, if you need us to twist your arm more, there will be bites and sips from some of our favorite Dallas spots, including Proof + Pantry, Hypnotic Donuts, ETC.
FRISCO STREATS FOOD TRUCK & MUSIC FESTIVAL
WHEN: April 9
WHERE: Fourth Street (between Main and Elm)
Go because … a free gourmet food truck and music festival is too good to turn down. Gone are the days of needing to leave the suburbs for fun events. Participating food trucks include Ruthie’s, Easy Slider and Nammi. We may be biased because we grew up there, but downtown Frisco is worth a visit in its own!
Pups & Pints at Deep Ellum Brewing Co.
WHEN: April 9, 3 – 6 p.m.
WHERE: Deep Ellum Brewing Co.
PRICE: $20/person for one beer + three beer tix
Go because… PUPPIES!! All proceeds from the afternoon benefit Paws in The City, so even if you don’t adopt a pup, your beer buzz will go to a good cause. We love Deep Ellum Brewing Co. and love the idea of a fundraiser even more!
URBAN BAZAR ON BISHOP
WHEN: April 10, 12 – 8 p.m.
WHERE: Bishop Arts District

Go because… we all appreciate any opportunity to shop small. Check out this open-air market and scope out the wide variety of items from a selection of artisans, bakers and home chefs.
DINING OUT IN DALLAS: BATTLE OF THE CHEFS

WHERE: Frontiers of Flight Museum

DOWNTOWN PLANO ART & WINE WALK
WHEN: April 14, 5 – 8 p.m.
WHERE: Downtown Plano (998 E 15th St.)
PRICE: $10, tickets here
Go because … drink wine and shop around historic downtown Plano while listening to live music. This is the first art & wine walk of the year, so take advantage of the mild temps and explore one of our favorite areas in the ‘burbs.
DEEP EDDY COCKTAIL DINNER
WHEN: April 19, 6 p.m.
WHERE: Urban Rio
PRICE: $34.95, call 972-543-8911 or email email@example.com for reservations
Go because … where else can you get five courses AND five cocktails for less than 40 bucks? Nowhere, that’s where. Urban Rio, which is located in historic downtown Plano, hosts monthly cocktail dinners, and they’re not to be missed. Trust us. This month, Deep Eddy is in the spotlight. The dinner will pair five chef-prepared courses with five craft cocktails.
SOCIAL SCIENCE: MUSIC
WHEN: April 22, 7 p.m.
WHERE: Perot Museum
PRICE: $20 non-members, $15 members
Go because … this has been on our list before, and it will continue to be on our list every months it occurs. It’s by far one of our favorite things to do in Dallas. Explore the Perot museum after hours (aka – with no children running around you) with drinks in hand, and “discover what makes music such a powerful catalyst for movement, emotion and creativity.”
WHEN: April 23
WHERE: Klyde Warren Park
Go because … Klyde Warren Park will be transformed into a giant pop-up, mini Dallas. Seriously. All ‘hoods will be represented, allowing you to explore every unique part of Dallas in one afternoon. There will be scavenger hunts, food, drinks and vendors from 15 different neighborhoods. We’re already looking forward to eating allllll of the Emporium pies.
Earth Day Texas
WHEN: April 22 – 24, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily
WHERE: Fair Park
Go because…we should all celebrate Earth Day a little bit more. *embrace your inner Tree Hugger* Not only can you peruse the adorable little Tiny House Village, but each day is full of unique events including a petting zoo for the kids, an eco-conference, a sustainable food market, and a yoga class. Go be green!
